In the 18th Century, English Nobleman John Montagu wanted to eat his meal with one hand so he wouldn’t have to stop participating in a 24-hour gambling event so he instructed his servants to serve him his lunch meat between two slices of bread.
This was quickly deemed an amazing idea and in true Nobleman fashion, Montagu, otherwise known as the fourth Earl of Sandwich, named his creation after himself and decided it should be celebrated every year on his birthday. To commemorate the birth of the world’s first sandwich-maker, November 3 is now National Sandwich Day!
Jumping ahead from the 18th century, we still take our sandwiches very seriously. In America, the most popular sandwich is, obviously, the hamburger. Step up your burger game with this Spicy BBQ Burger or this Hawaiian Burger. Or if you prefer to keep it simple with basic ketchup and mustard, then double down with this Double Dog Condiment Dispenser.

Closely behind burgers as America’s favorite is the grilled cheese. Class it up and make it feel like summer all the time with this Strawberry and Avocado Grilled Cheese.
