That might seem impractical or time-consuming for the lot of us who set the alarm an hour before our departure time but roll out of bed 15 minutes before that. But a little effort and time into putting something together at the beginning of the day can do wonders for your body and mind– not just for the rest of the day, but for days and weeks to come. Think about this:
While you might not be able to roll out cooked eggs with brussels sprout hash like a pro (though you’ll know how by the end of this article), just feeding yourself something wholesome and healthy (sorry, Lucky Charms) can do wonders for your health. Staring at a bowl of cereal might not be enough to get your attention, so here’s a few fun and quirky breakfast ideas to start off the day with a smile!

Similar to the above breakfast recipe, Chard and Chorizo Frittata cooks in an oven but with more of a spicy kick. The Spanish chorizo offers a bit more heat while it cooks with eggs, chard, hash browns, and Parmesan cheese. Don’t forget your cast iron skillet for this one!
Another personal favorite! Brussels Sprout and Potato Hash might not sound so appetizing when you recall memories of having to be force-fed brussels sprouts. But their nuttiness along with frozen hash browns and a little onion and spices creates a hash that’s more complex than the few ingredients might suggest. Top with an egg cooked in simmering water to help keep calories in check!
